Restore Lab

Red Light Therapy —
light, considered.

Photobiomodulation using red and near-infrared wavelengths. Standalone sessions, or as part of our Restore Lab recovery protocols. From $45 per visit, booked through Jane App.

What it is

A short, warm session of very specific light.

Red and near-infrared light wavelengths (roughly 630–850 nm) are absorbed by mitochondria in your cells. Over the course of a session, this stimulates a cascade of measurable responses — improved circulation, reduced inflammatory markers, and signals that support tissue repair.

The light is warm but not hot. There's no UV: you can't tan, you can't burn. The session is short — 12 to 20 minutes for standalone RLT — and most patients find it deeply calming.

Restore Lab
Red light, compression, and vibration — in one quiet room.

Pricing

Three protocols. One room.

Standalone Red Light Therapy is the light-only session. Restore Lab adds compression and vibration recovery in the same visit — for athletes, post-exertion recovery, or anyone working on deeper tissue support.

All sessions booked through Jane App. Bundles available on request.

What it does

Three areas of measurable change.

Photobiomodulation has been studied across recovery medicine, dermatology, and general wellness. These are the outcomes patients most commonly report — not promised, observed.

01 · Recovery
  • Improved circulation and tissue oxygenation
  • Reduced muscle soreness after exertion
  • Faster recovery between training or activity
  • Lower joint and connective-tissue inflammation
02 · Skin & appearance
  • Collagen production and skin elasticity
  • More even tone, texture, and hydration
  • Calmer redness and visible inflammation
  • Hair density and scalp circulation
03 · Wellbeing
  • Calmer stress response in the body
  • Better sleep quality after evening sessions
  • Mood and energy in the days following
  • A genuinely pleasant treatment experience

Your first visit

What actually happens, step by step.

  1. Arrive a few minutes early

Walk into the practice on Union Avenue. We'll go through any health questions briefly and answer anything before we start.

  2. Choose your protocol

Standalone Red Light Therapy, or one of the Restore Lab combinations (30 or 60 minutes, with compression and vibration). We help you pick if you're not sure.

  3. The session itself

Quiet, warm, comfortable. Most clothing comes off so the wavelengths can reach skin. Sessions are short — 12 to 30 minutes — and feel like sitting in a gentle, warm light.

  4. Afterwards

No downtime. Most patients feel calm and slightly warm for the rest of the day. Frequency depends on what you're working on; we'll talk through a sensible cadence.

RLT — frequently asked

The questions we hear most.

If yours isn't here, ask when you book — we'd rather you have a clear picture before the first visit than wonder during it.

Does Red Light Therapy actually work? What does the science say?

Photobiomodulation (the formal name for RLT) has been studied across recovery medicine, dermatology, and wound healing for decades. The evidence is strongest for tissue recovery, inflammation, and skin health. We're honest with patients: it's a real modality with real research, not a cure-all, and results vary by what you're working on.

Who is RLT for, and who shouldn't use it?

Most healthy adults are good candidates. RLT is generally not recommended during pregnancy, on active cancers, or over recent surgical sites without clinician guidance. If you're on photosensitising medications we'll talk through whether it's appropriate. We ask a few quick health questions before your first session.

How many sessions before I see results?

Patients usually report subtle changes within 2–3 sessions and more noticeable changes by 6–8. For skin, hair, or recovery work, a typical cadence is 1–2 sessions per week for the first month, then maintenance from there. We'll suggest a sensible plan based on what you're working on.

What does a session feel like?

Comfortable. Quiet. The light is warm but not hot, and there's no UV — you can't tan or burn. Most people find it deeply relaxing; some fall asleep. Restore Lab sessions add gentle compression and vibration, which most patients describe as 'pleasantly heavy' or 'like a slow massage'.

What's the difference between RLT and the Restore Lab?

RLT alone is the light-only session. Restore Lab combines RLT with compression therapy and vibration — three modalities in one room, designed for recovery and circulation. Restore Lab 30 is the same price as standalone RLT ($45) and fits most goals; Restore Lab 60 ($75) is for deeper recovery work and longer protocols.

Do I need to do anything before or after?

Arrive with clean skin (no sunscreen, makeup, or heavy moisturisers on the areas being treated). After the session there's no downtime — drink water, go about your day. We'll suggest a session cadence at your first visit.
